Jaime's San Francisco Review

We started the 8 hour drive to San Francisco at 3:00 PM. First we had to pick up Christine, and Shelby was already at my house. I was already annoying my parents :o). The car we rented was no bigger than the cars we own, so therefore, I have no idea why we even bothered to rent one! So anyway, for about an hour I had no fun at all cuz we forgot to bring like 30 things! We forgot my wrist brace, which I need cuz I am on the computer too much...heehee. And we forgot the paper and stuff that I wanted to use to make signs for our windows. So we needed to stop in someplace to get batteries for Shelby's radio so we could listen to Hanson. That plan didn't work either, it skipped to much so we listened to the tape of Boomerang...for 8 hours. So we got the stuff, then we wrote 4 different posters, 2 for each side. Just stuff like Hanson Albertane Tour, etc. Someone passed by and saw the signs and nodded. Others just stared at us like we were crazy.

Then we had fun! We sang to like every song that came on the radio, and were dancing and stuff. In the car...heehee. My mom was like "Are you guys gonna sing like that at the concert?" My dad said he didn't know who sang worse LoL. That's pretty much all that happened while we were driving up there. But once we were there, we drove for 2 hours looking for a hotel!! All of them were full cuz there was a convention that week. So we finally checked in to one at 2:00 in the morning.

Then we woke up at 10 to check out and go to Shoreline. So we were at Shoreline at 12:30/1:00. The concert started at 8:00. So we had all those hours to kill. Not that we cared! So for a long time nothing happened. Then everytime a limo passed by or a white van everyone would scream thinking it was Hanson. When they've been there for hours! We made this really cool friend named Jordan there too. So we all hung out together. You know what I don't get? When people who don't even LIKE Hanson go to their concert!

Well, at around 4 they opened the merchandise stands opened. We went and I bought 3 tour books (2 for friends who don't get to see them at all), that huge poster, and a navy blue shirt. I wanted everything hehe. Finally at 6 they opened the gates....>

We went in, and since we had seats, why run? Our seats were pretty far, but at least we could see them! Until all these people held up signs and then we all screamed "PUT DOWN YOUR SIGN!!" So there we sat for another couple hours, waiting for the opening act, the Baja Men. And Jordan asked us to try and get these 3 little penguins backstage so we were walking all over the place and darn, they wouldn't let us backstage. heehee and we looked so innocent.

When the Baja Men came on, everyone was standing and clapping and stuff. I was sitting. hehe. I don't like reggae much. But then they started singing Back To The Island, which is a song that Hanson has sung!! So we all started screaming way loud and singing and dancing and everyone else was staring at us like we were insane. Then Admiral Twin came on. AHH they were sooo good!! Me and Shelby started chanting Admiral Twin over and over and again, everyone stared at us! The dorks there got more into Baja Men than Admiral Twin!! Ugh.

Then, 20 more minutes until Hanson came on. I'll tell you what I didn't like first. Everytime they showed Zac on the TV screen, everyone screamed. Even when they were singing along! Same with Taylor, but not as much. Then they show Ike-silence. Except for me screaming "GO IKE!!" hehe. The other annoying thing (besides the signs) was that people were screaming during Weird a cappella, Weird, IWC2U, With You In Your Dreams, and More Than Anything. AND the most annoying, they screamed while they were TALKING!! I'm like HELLO?!? I would like to HEAR them you know? That's all the stuff I didn't like. Tons huh? Hehehe.

Taylor was wearing a white shirt under another white shirt. LoL WSA!! It was one with a collar. Then 3 songs later, he took that one off. He had one tightish (ugh) redish pants. Ike had on greenish shiny pants and a white shirt (WSA) under a blue shirt halfway buttoned up with some odd pattern on it. Then after More Than Anything he had a very shiny red leathery looking short-sleeve shirt open over the white one. Zac at first looked to me like he had a redish long sleeve shirt one. But maybe not cuz like the next song he had a blue and red/pink camouflage shirt on and brownish pants. His and Tay's hair was down. Guess what Ike's was? hehe.

I stood on my chair the whole time. (Now is the time to tell you I lost my voice before Hanson even came on) When the first beats started...oh wow. They of course played Gimmie Some Lovin/Shake Your Tailfeather first. The people screamed right through Taylor's little solo part so I couldn't hear...I was screaming the lyrics hehe.

Then Thinking Of You was on, and here comes my slightly embarrassing moment. I leaned over to tell Shelby something and I fell through the back of the chair! Meaning I don't remember much of that song. But Zac's voice is getting better and better.

They said all the usual stuff-"Are you guys ready to have some fun?" At one point Ike said "I've said it before and I'll say it again...you guys ROCK!" Then Taylor said something about us being very loud and tough cuz we live through all those earthquakes. LoL! They dedicated Minute Without You to the people in Lawn. Once when it was quiet Taylor was like "We've lost our audience!" And since everyone was already standing, he's like "I guess we don't have to tell you guys the rule..." You know, the everyone must stand one. And this really made me mad, Taylor made a joke before True Love, and I don't think anyone heard it cuz they were all screaming to loud, so he was just like "okay..." when no one laughed. He also said we were the best audience, but they must say that everywhere LoL.

Let's see the songs they sang were (drumroll please Zac):
after TOY was Where's The Love (I love the long version)
*Weird (screamed extra loud on Ike's "So hard" line)
*River (I LOVE the bridge and I screamed after the "yeah yeah, whoa whoa" see, I would rather sing the songs than scream).
*Ever Lonely, the song dedicated to Ashley. I don't remember how it sounds at all, but it rocked and I love it.
*Sometimes (oh my gosh those drums are the coolest thing ever!!!)

Then they changed the set..."Welcome to our 3 car garage!"
*Stories (oh how sweet it is...you could hear everyone in the audience singing "We must've been a blessing from above")
*With You In Your Dreams (wow the drums rocked on the faster part here too. Go Zac!!)
*Money (That's What I Want) my this was cool! Zac sounded sooo good! And the instruments did too!
*Soldier

Then came the moment I have been waiting for...the song that melted my heart and made me, Shelby and Christine a basket-case. Taylor and Zac left the stage and Ike walked over to the keyboards. Me and Shelby were chanting oh my god oh my god over and over. The song was (duh!) More Than Anything, my absolute favorite song in the world. He played it so great, and he has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard...and hearing the words in person just left me speechless. Everyone around me was screaming while I was just staring in complete utter silence. The sweetest thing was, he was so into the song, his eyes closed, even HE cried. And now I'm crying but that's beside the point! You could see the tear roll down his face...it just moves you...and then there was the last notes he played before the last "More than Anything..." and that last line gave me chills I swear. (Man am I sounded like an obsessed freak or what??)

Then came the other set again.
*Speechless (how I love this song! It was slower than on the 10 spot, but who cares?! I screamed for Ike again hehe) Then they introduced the back-up band. I even loved that song! LoL and then Tay played the drums yay! Those guys love their water guns, they squirted us every single time they came out on stage! Then as Taylor was walking back to his keyboards he fell, probably on the water. He got right back up so no worry.
*I Will Come To You (they messed up in the same spot as the 10 spot. And very cute-Zac yelled in a funny voice "I will come to yooou")
*True Love (I have always known what this song was, I just never know what it was called! Right when it started I yelled I love this song!!)
*MMMBop (what to say? You couldn't hear Hanson at ALL. Just the audience singing it! I'm so serious! It was cool!! Except some girls behind us didn't even know the Can You Tell Me verse!)
*Man From Milwaukee (this made me soooo mad, you couldn't hear Zac AT ALL for his baby bird part cuz the stupid girls were screaming!!)

Then they leave and do the whole "You want us back?" (screams) "Are you sure?" (louder screams) and come back.
*Look At You (I hate how it seems no one likes this song! I LOVE this song and I had a blast dancing to all these songs! And the lighting during "Look at you, look at you baby. Look at you look at you baby.." part were soo cool!)
*Summertime Blues (oh gosh I LOVE this song and was surprised to see how many people knew the words! I screamed SO loud whenever Ike did that way deep voice!! And everyone knew exactly what to do when Tay had us sing "There ain't no cure for the summertime blues")

When the lights came up we could not stop talking about it, and we all hugged and screamed some more. It was THE BEST day of my entire life. I can't wait til their next tour!!
