Returning after a four year lay off, the now indie brothers sound newly energized as they kick out brawny guitar-rock jams with the aid of power pop tunesmiths like Matthew Sweet. But loud guitar chords don't always equal hooks, and Taylor's delivery is often so slurred that it's hard to decipher what he's singing. Hanson are still searching for that tricky link between "MMMbop" and mmm-rock.
