Take a Sneak Peek at Hanson's Big-Screen Debut
The scene: Downtown Los Angeles at the Mayan Theatre, with crewmembers and
teenage extras milling about the parking lot. The story: The first thing
spotted on the set are the Hanson brothers - Isaac, Taylor and Zac - coming
out of the hair and makeup trailer, camera-ready for their cameo in the
upcoming flick, Frank McClusky P.I. where they'll sing their new tune "Get
Up and Go".
A frantic crewmember notices an energenetic Zac standing by himself and
asks, "Are you an extra?" He politely saysn "no", and laughs, saying "I
guess I just look like an average Joe".
Soon the guys head over to the set. As they rehearse their concert scene the
trio is patient and cooperative-about a gazillion people give directions.
Later, as the fellas take a break, they talk about the scene. "Doing this
part in the movie sounded like a goofy, fun thing to do", explains talkative
Taylor. "And it's another way for us to be creative in this business. We're
having a great time.
And he's not kidding. Even after oodles of years singing, recording and
touring toegther, Hanson still finds ways to constantly challenge and
re-inspire themselves to keep things interesting.
But with all the time they spend together, why don't they ever fight? Zac
grins, "There's always been an understanding that I'd kick their butts!"
The guys also talk about a few personal things. Taylor, for instance, has
been know to spill a drink or two and cause havoc on stage during a
performance. So what gives? "I'm totally accident prone", fesses Taylor. "I
tend to break tings that you wouldn't imagine could be broken".
And it wouldn't be a story without the 411 on their dating sitch. So with a
little coaxing, laid-back Isaac spills the beans. Both he and Taylor are
spoken for, but little bro Zac is definitely looking for a gal pal. "I'm in
a constant pursuit of the female species", Zac admits.
And just in case you're wondering, these talented tunesters are also hard at
work on their next CD scheduled to hit stores in January.
"It's very much pop music, but we're doing it in our own way," Isaac says.
Taylor adds, "Our plan is to make the best record possible, as always".
Soon, the brothers are called back to the set, which is now full of lights,
cameras and extras. The cuties step on stage, ready for their big film
debut, due out sometime in spring 2002
